In Dire Need of a Vaca

Hols start today... However, no sandy beaches in this ladies horizon.

I suppose we'll have to make up for it in city nights, the last of the '09 Balmain look, J Lohr and Champagne...

Visual

The visual merchandiser in me was drawn to these photographs right away. What an interesting use of objects and display tactics. I love people who make the simplest things so beautiful.

A Gift From Chanel

So, soooo... Reading this girls blog earlier today, and came across the fact that Chanel sends their excellent customers gifts for the holidays. Why does this not suprise me in the slightest. They do a damn good job, which is why the have the reputation they do. Two cashmere scarves marked "Chanel Christmas 2009". What a lovely gift.
As they say, may the rich get richer my dear!

Just around the corner...

With New years drawing closer once more, and alas, lack of one to kiss at midnight, what is a girl to do but think about her last '09 wardrobe choices.

Although it has been a whirlwind year of 80's, sequins, luxe leather, sky high shoulders, micro minis and neon's, I am still sitting on the proverbial fence about the appropriate attire this new years eve. The whole idea of ringing in a new year in last years sequins and shoulders like every other girl in the room, seduces me as much as Uggs in the winter. Isn't the idea of a new year, not so much about a new you(as most publications would have us believe) but a better more exuberant version of ones self? I thought so.

I would love to hear from whomever has read this what you will be donning this NYE. Let's share the love, and inspire one another to be the best looking NYE partier whatever party you're attending, has seen! (And then maybe we will all end up with a kiss at midnight.. even if it is a kiss from the champagne bottle*)

And sometimes.. Love is all you need

And I quote...

"I feel very strongly that we make decisions about what we're giving to the world, what we're with holding from the world, by virtue of what we put on our bodies and what we choose to say or not to say." - Meryl Streep

With age comes...

I wish I could blow this picture up even larger for you however, this is the largest it will go.
There is something so beautiful and intriguing about ageing. Not only aging, but aging gracefully. It seems to be something everyone says, yet nobody does. The woman in this image is probably in her late 50's early 60's and she looks remarkable. I yearn to be that age and riding a Parisian bike in high heels. So dainty yet all the years and layers of a woman so strong and resilient. Being a woman is a very powerful thing, don't underestimate yourself ladies.

Angels behind the scenes. Basically the perfect sex kitten hair. Tousled, full bodied, a bit of a curl, a bit of a mess. Dewy skin, sun kissed, pink cheek, pink lip. Voila... Je T'adore

PYT

PYT Pretty Young Thing...
Needed an Olsens fix. Does it get any better? Honestly. The black dress with the elephant belt on MK is my love. There's something about a beautifully crafted piece of lace that makes me weak at the knees. Something so enticing about being covered and yet being so exposed. That's the best of everything I suppose. A mix of good and evil, in and out, sexuality and innocence. Nothing could spark interest quicker then a flash of what looks not to be there.

xoxo Gone with the Wild Things

I never really fell too deeply in love with all things studded. On some, it works. On myself, I'm not really that tough love kind of girl, so it just simply wasn't my thing. However, upon seeeing this stunning headband I believe I might have to reconsider my previous statement.

To Read

Karl Lagerfeld made this quote and I can not stop thinking about it. "My favorite material is paper." Everytime I'm in chapters, writing, or doing anything involving paper, I realize I love paper that much as well. I love the smell of old books, the colour paper turns as it ages, and the beautiful things we can draw and write on paper that get passed from person to person and one generation to the next.
Ever thought this deeply about paper before? I know I hadn't.
